BUSINESS AND LEARNING

All of the accommodation options and categories catered towards business and learning services. Nine categories, which include business centres, meeting rooms and office spaces. Business Centres
A room or a space designed to provide visitors with a variety of office facilities, which might include internet access and the use of computers, photocopiers, and fax machines.
Conference Facilities
A room or space that might vary in size for conferences, which are a type of meeting normally consisting of large groups of people and the area will often include conference-related facilities such as projectors, video conferencing, flip charts and television screens.
Internet Services
Whether free or paid, internet services enable users to go online, connecting through a cable or WI-FI to the internet using the service provider’s connection.
Meeting Rooms

A chateau, hacienda and stately home are typically large country estates, usually large properties surrounded by land and smaller outbuildings. The term chateau relates to French properties, Haciendas relates to Spanish estates and Stately Homes relate to estates in English-speaking countries.
Manors, Palazzo and Mansions
A manor house typically relates to a large historic house with land owned by the wealthy and nobility. Typically, large opulent buildings have many architectural features of a particular style or period. Palazzos relate to large homes in Italy owned or previously owned by noble families, and a mansion is a generic term for large, impressive houses.
Penthouses
A penthouse is typically an apartment located on the highest level or floor within a building and normally offers impressive views and large spaces.
Private Island Resorts
A private island resort is typically an exclusive hotel or series of connected smaller buildings that occupy an entire island.
Vineyards

A dorm is typically a large room containing many beds. Dorms can usually be found within hostels, universities and student accommodation.
Halls of Residence (Outside Term Time)
A hall of residence is typically a building within a college campus where students stay during term time. Outside of term time, the university will let out the rooms to visitors to the area.

Hostels

Aparthotel and Extended Stay Hotels
An aparthotel offers all the facilities and amenities of a hotel; however, instead of providing just hotel accommodation, an aparthotel gives guests the freedom of a self-catering private apartment and will include kitchen and bathroom facilities. Like Aparthotels, extended-stay hotels offer standard hotel facilities and are popular with guests who plan to stay for more than 30 days.
Bed and Breakfast, Casas Particulares and Lodges
A bed and breakfast are typically a small commercial property that offers hotel-like facilities and often includes an option for breakfast. Bed and Breakfast properties are usually independently run, have the owner of the premises present, and are often intimate, offering home-cooked meals. Casas Particulars is the name given to bed and breakfast facilities and lodges, which are typically small houses located in the country and can be used as a general term.
Boutique Hotels and Hotel Particulier
Boutique Hotels are typically smaller and more intimate and provide guests with a high-quality and personalised experience. Many boutique hotels are themed and have a unique style; many can be found in city centres, and hotel particulars are the French term for grand townhouses or mansions.
Budget Hotels
A budget hotel usually offers low-cost accommodation with basic but functional facilities offered at an affordable cost. In Japan, budget hotels are known as Minshuku, and it is where guests will sleep in Japanese-style rooms.
Capsule and Pod Hotels
A capsule hotel or a pod hotel is popular in Asia and offers guests a compact sleeping space arranged and stacked in rows. Within the hotel, guests have access to shared amenities such as lockers, vending machines and shared bathroom facilities.
Design Hotels
A design hotel typically offers high-end, luxury accommodation with a focus on a particular style or design. Rooms will include high-quality furniture, fixtures and fittings and feature the latest technology.
Eco Hotel

Guesthouses, Paradors, Pousadas and Pensions
A guesthouse is similar to a bed and breakfast facility; however, it will typically not include breakfast as standard. Hotels

Apartments and Condominiums
Apartments and condominiums are self-contained residential units containing one or more rooms within a block, building or complex of buildings. These buildings will contain multiple units and typically have shared facilities such as communal areas, lifts, gardens and parking facilities. In the UK, apartments are often called flats, and in the USA, they are often referred to as condominiums.
Bungalows
A bungalow is typically a residential building with a number of rooms set over one level (single-level). Bungalows usually have a front porch and a sloping roof.
Rock and Cave Houses
A rock or cave house is a residential property made up of multiple rooms built or carved into the rock face or natural cave formations. Rock and cave houses can be found in Turkey, Greece and Spain.
Courtyard and Riad Houses
A courtyard and riad houses are typically residential buildings with a number of rooms set around a central courtyard. Multiple properties will be accessible from the courtyard, and in Morocco, these types of properties are known as Riads.
Detached Houses
A detached house is a residential property made up of multiple rooms which are not connected or attached to another property. Link-detached properties are those where there is a small connecting space between two or more properties.

Sheltered housing is a type of accommodation that covers a range of rental apartments and houses designed for vulnerable people, typically older people and those with mobility issues. The accommodation is usually self-contained but may include bedsits or single rooms, and generally, a property manager and other necessary professionals live on site.
Timeshares
A timeshare is a type of shared ownership in which individuals will purchase access to a vacation property for use for a specific number of days each year. The days purchased are often fixed, and the timeshare owner, subject to the terms of the timeshare, may be able to let out the property during their allocated days.
Townhomes
A townhouse is a type of property made up of many rooms and set over many floors, three or more. Townhomes are usually found within towns and cities, and many are terraced and attached to other properties on each side.
Villas

Tipis, wigwams, and yurts are tent-like structures found in different parts of the world. Tipis and Wigwams originated in North America and were popular among native Americans. Tipis were traditionally conical tents that were covered in cloth or canvas and made of fabric, and Wigwams were circular structures covered in bark, hides, and reed mats. Yurts originate from Central Asia and are large circular tens covered in felt or canvas or skins.
Towers, Lighthouses and Windmills
A tower and lighthouse are structures where that are tall in proportion to the size of the base or circumference of the building. The tall freestanding buildings were used to act as watchtowers, to provide light to ships during poor visibility, to house church bells and more. Windmills are structures that were previously used to convert wind into power, for example, to turn mills. Many of the tower-like structures have been converted into residential accommodation.
Treehouses
A treehouse is a structure built around the trunk of one or more mature trees. The structure will use the branches of the trees that were traditionally designed for recreational use. Many treehouses have now been built to offer accommodation in a unique setting.
Underground and Pit Homes
Underground and pit homes can range from partly sunken to completely underground. Many underground homes will use traditional and natural materials but may also include bomb and dug-out shelters. Pit homes are usually partly sunken into the ground.
